Construction Begins on New Lisarow Ambulance Station
Construction has officially commenced on a new ambulance station at 60 Railway Crescent in Lisarow on the Central Coast. Member for The Entrance David Mehan and Minister for the Central Coast David Harris joined local paramedics to mark the milestone at a sod-turning event, with completion of the facility expected in late 2027.
The Lisarow project is part of the New South Wales Government's $615.5 million NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program. Alongside planned stations in Berkeley Vale and Kincumber, the project aims to expand frontline emergency care capacity to support the region's expanding population.
According to the state government, the broader infrastructure program is scheduled to deliver 30 new ambulance stations and associated infrastructure across Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Hunter, and Illawarra regions. The government stated that this infrastructure rollout aligns with broader workforce initiatives, which include recruiting an additional 500 paramedics for rural and regional areas and implementing a pay increase for the state's paramedic workforce.
Minister for Health Ryan Park said the new station is designed to provide modern facilities to strengthen emergency response capabilities for growing Central Coast communities.
Minister for the Central Coast David Harris noted that the facility follows other regional healthcare investments, including staff ratio commitments for local hospitals and the recent $200 million redevelopment of Wyong Hospital.
Member for The Entrance David Mehan stated that the investment will help essential health services keep pace with regional growth to ensure long-term emergency care access for local families.
