The Minns Labor Government has announced more than $1.7 million in funding for minor capital works projects across health facilities in the Mid North Coast and Northern NSW regions. The funding is part of the government's broader $12 million Regional Health Minor Works Program, which is being delivered over a two-year period.
Under the allocation, the Mid North Coast Local Health District will receive $1 million, while more than $700,000 has been directed to the Northern NSW Local Health District. The program aims to support infrastructure updates and enhance regional, rural, and remote health facilities across the state.
Specific projects funded by the investment include the creation of office and collaboration spaces at the Coffs Harbour Health Campus. Additionally, the funding will cover refurbishments and critical asset upgrades at the Aruma Community Mental Health facility in Grafton.
Planned works at the Grafton facility include general maintenance, new floor coverings, updated ceilings and lighting, and improvements to outdoor patient interview and waiting areas. New air conditioning and information and communications technology (ICT) equipment will also be installed. According to the government, the project at Aruma Community Mental Health is slated to begin in mid-2027.
The regional works program forms part of a larger state commitment outlined in the 2026-27 Budget, which allocates $11.9 billion to build or upgrade 32 hospitals across New South Wales, including nearly $3 billion over four years dedicated to regional hospitals.
