Armed Robbery Attempt in Forbes, Central West – Residents Urged to Provide Information

On Thursday, 9th May 2024, at around 3:20 am, five unknown individuals, dressed in black and wearing balaclavas, broke into a property on Ferry Street, Forbes, following a failed attempt to rob a residence. Upon a resident shouting at the group, they stole a reciprocating saw and fled the scene.

Shortly after, at approximately 3:50 am, two males, dressed similarly, confronted a 66-year-old man on Bandon Street, Forbes, demanding money and threatening him with the stolen reciprocating saw. Fortunately, the victim was unhurt when two other men intervened.

The robbers then turned on the intervening men, assaulting them and issuing threats with the saw prior to their departure. Both men sustained minor injuries. The NSW Central West Police District has initiated an investigation into the incidents.
