CIT Woden Campus Soars to New Heights with Sustainable Design

ACT, Australia

In a significant milestone for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), the new CIT Woden Campus building has reached its maximum height, marking a collaborative effort between the ACT Government, CIT, and local businesses. The campus is set to become a vital component of the ACT Government’s commitment to revitalizing Woden as a hub for living, working, and studying.

With a target of supporting up to 6,500 students annually, the campus will focus on training students for careers in IT, cyber security, business, and hospitality. The campus will also feature a student-operated café, restaurant, hair and beauty salon, and retail spaces for the local community to enjoy.

Sustainability is at the heart of the project, with mass timber beams forming the building’s structure, and the ceremonial topping out tree crafted from construction offcuts. To date, the CIT Woden Campus Project has delivered over 450 jobs and 5,000 hours of training for students, apprentices, and trainees, with more job opportunities to be created as the project progresses.

Upcoming stages of the project include the installation of the roof and glazed timber façade, as well as internal fitout, landscaping, and art. The CIT Woden Campus is scheduled to open for students in semester 2, 2025, accompanied by the CIT Woden Youth Foyer and new Public Transport Interchange as part of the ACT Government’s ongoing transformation of the Woden Town Centre.
