Hunt for Hit-and-Run Suspects After 62-Year-Old Man Critically Injured in Sydney’s South-West

A 62-year-old man is fighting for his life in a Sydney hospital after a hit-and-run incident on The Hume Highway in Liverpool, and police are urging the public to help find the drivers responsible.

On Monday, 6 May 2024, around 8:30 pm, emergency services responded to calls about a man lying on the road after being hit by a vehicle on The Hume Highway. The man was taken to Liverpool Hospital in critical condition.

Crash investigators from the Liverpool City Police Area Command and the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation under Strike Force Promote.

Police have released images of a dark-coloured Mazda 3, missing a driver’s side mirror, and a silver utility with blue sign writing along the passenger side, hoping the public can help locate the vehicles. The Mazda 3 is believed to have been involved in the crash, while the utility was seen in the area around the time of the incident.
