Illuminate Adelaide, one of Australia’s most anticipated winter events, is making its comeback for its fourth year, promising to light up the streets of Adelaide with a spectacular display of art, music, and technology. Last year’s edition of the festival was a resounding success, winning the prestigious 2023 Gold Medal Award for Major Festivals or Events at the South Australian Tourism Awards and generating a record-breaking $54.3 million for the state’s visitor economy.

From July 4th to July 21st, nearly 150 local, national, and international artists, including 62 from overseas, will showcase their talents through a program filled with ticketed events, music performances, and free installations. The festival’s highlight is the mesmerizing Fire Gardens at Adelaide Botanic Garden, featuring over 7,000 giant handcrafted fire pots, enchanting candlelit archways, captivating flaming sculptures, and live music performances.

In addition to Fire Gardens, the festival will transform iconic locations throughout the city, including Government House, Bonython Hall, the Art Gallery of South Australia, Lot Fourteen, and Adelaide Festival Plaza, with 40 interactive installations and projections as part of the free City Lights program.

Illuminate Adelaide has become a beloved event for South Australians and visitors alike, attracting a record 1.3 million attendances in 2023, including over 15,000 visitors from interstate and overseas. The festival not only brings joy and entertainment but also significantly contributes to the state’s economy.
