Man Arrested After Alleged Armed Robbery at Kingswood Licenced Hotel,

A man has been arrested following an alleged armed robbery at a licenced hotel in Kingswood, Western Sydney, in the early hours of Wednesday, 8 May 2024. The Nepean Police Area Command received a report around 12:40 am about the incident at a hotel on Great Western Highway.

According to the police, the man entered the premises, threatening three employees with a firearm before fleeing with $20,000 in cash. During a search of the surrounding area, officers stopped a rideshare vehicle, where they found a prohibited firearm and multiple clothing items, allegedly belonging to the suspect.

The police later found the man hiding in a dumpster on Bringelly Lane with the help of the Dog Unit. They also recovered the allegedly stolen $20,000 during a search of the man.

The 37-year-old man was arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station, where he is currently assisting the police with their inquiries. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
