Man Arrested for Indecent Assaults, Possession of Firearms, and Breaching Bail,

Detectives from Eastern District CIB have arrested a 67-year-old man from Oakden in connection with a series of sexual assaults that took place at a business premises in Adelaide’s CBD. The alleged assaults occurred between January 2023 and February 2024, targeting women who visited the Currie Street business for job interviews.

The suspect was apprehended by police on Wednesday, May 1, at 8pm. Following his arrest, a search was conducted at his residence, where officers discovered an insecurely stored silencer and bullet. As a result, the man now faces additional charges of breaching firearms regulations.

In total, the man has been charged with four counts of aggravated indecent assault, ten counts of aggravated assault, two counts of breaching bail, and two counts of breaching firearms regulations. Due to the seriousness of the charges, bail was refused.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Adelaide Magistrates Court today, Thursday, May 2. The court proceedings will shed further light on the details of the offenses and provide an opportunity for justice to be served.
