Detectives from the Moonee Valley Crime Investigation Unit charged two teenagers on Monday following an early morning building fire in Tullamarine. Emergency services were initially dispatched to reports of the blaze on Flight Drive shortly before 3:15 a.m., according to Victoria Police.

Authorities reported that no one was inside the building at the time of the fire and no injuries were sustained.

Following the incident, officers observed a vehicle of interest allegedly travelling at high speed in Meadow Heights. Police followed the vehicle into Roxburgh Park, where it was abandoned on Clair Boulevard as the occupants fled the scene on foot.

A 16-year-old male and an 18-year-old male were subsequently arrested on Sheridan Way and interviewed by detectives.

The 16-year-old was charged with criminal damage by fire, theft of a motor vehicle, and handling stolen goods. He was remanded in custody to appear before a children's court.

The 18-year-old faces charges of criminal damage by fire, theft of a motor vehicle, handling stolen goods, and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail. He is scheduled to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates' Court.
