Humanitarian operations are ongoing across northern Venezuela following two major earthquakes on June 24 that impacted at least seven states, including Caracas and La Guaira, according to a situation report published on ReliefWeb.

The magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes struck less than one minute apart. Official figures cite 6,509 fatalities, 6,462 people rescued, and 226,696 individuals who have received hospital care in the aftermath of the disasters.

According to the report, key humanitarian needs in the affected areas include healthcare services, clean water, food, shelter, protection support, adequate sanitation and hygiene facilities, as well as mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS).

As part of the relief response, International Medical Corps reported deploying three mobile medical units, which have conducted 10,601 consultations since July 1. The organization also established an Emergency Medical Team Type 1 Fixed facility on July 11, delivering 7,625 consultations.

Additionally, the organization stated that its teams have distributed nearly 1.5 million liters of safe water to displacement sites and conducted 1,492 mental health and psychosocial support consultations.
