TGA Takes Court Action Over Alleged Unlawful Advertising of Peptides and Medicinal Cannabis

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has commenced proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia against companies and directors associated with BioV8, Better Leaf Pty Ltd, and Better Life Aussie Pty Ltd over the alleged unlawful advertising of peptides and medicinal cannabis.

According to the TGA, legal action was initiated against Better Leaf Pty Ltd, Better Life Aussie Pty Ltd, and their sole director regarding promotional material published on the company's website and social media platforms. The regulator alleged that this advertising was unlawful because medicinal cannabis products are prescription-only medicines, which are prohibited from being advertised directly to consumers.

In related regulatory actions, the TGA reported that it seized more than $120,000 worth of illicit peptide and anabolic steroid products with assistance from the NSW Police. The seizures took place across two residential premises in New South Wales that were allegedly linked to a social media influencer.
