Nineteen-Year-Old Driver Dies Following Two-Vehicle Crash in Colebee

A 19-year-old man died and another teenager was critically injured following a two-vehicle collision on Richmond Road in Colebee, in Sydney's west, on the afternoon of Sunday, 27 September 2026.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 5:00 p.m. after reports of a crash between a sedan and an SUV. Officers from Riverstone Police Area Command, supported by Mount Druitt Police Area Command, Blacktown Police Area Command, and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, found both the driver and passenger trapped inside the sedan.

NSW Ambulance paramedics, assisted by two off-duty police officers, treated the 19-year-old driver at the scene. He was transported toward the hospital in critical condition but died en route, according to police.

Fire and Rescue NSW assisted in extricating the sedan's passenger, also a 19-year-old man. He received treatment from paramedics before being taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV, a 28-year-old man, sustained minor injuries. He was treated by paramedics and taken to the hospital for further medical care and mandatory testing.

Police established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. A report will be prepared for the coroner. Authorities have appealed for anyone with information, dashcam footage, or CCTV to contact Crime Stoppers.
