Contracts have been signed for five major road projects valued at nearly $3 billion across Western Sydney, with construction scheduled to begin later this year. Jointly funded by the Australian federal and New South Wales state governments, the initiatives aim to increase network capacity, upgrade key intersections, and improve access to the Western Sydney International Airport.

The awarded contracts cover five major infrastructure projects:

– **Mamre Road Stage 2 ($1 billion):** Gamuda BMD JV will convert 6.1 kilometres of single-lane road into two lanes between Erskine Park Road and Kerrs Road in Kemps Creek, including intersection upgrades and active transport links.
– **Elizabeth Drive ($1 billion):** Gamuda BMD JV will widen the corridor to two lanes in each direction between Devonshire Road and Badgerys Creek Road to support airport access and local traffic.
– **Garfield Road East ($440 million):** Fulton Hogan will widen the road to two lanes in each direction from Piccadilly Street in Riverstone to Windsor Road in Box Hill.
– **Henry Lawson Drive Stage 1B ($247 million):** BMD Constructions will build approximately 1.8 kilometres of dual carriageway offering two lanes in each direction between Auld Avenue in Milperra and the M5 Motorway.
– **The Horsley Drive ($190 million):** Ward Civil & Environmental Engineering Pty Ltd will widen a 650-metre section to two lanes in each direction between the M7 Motorway and Wallgrove Road at Horsley Park.

Additional projects across the region are also progressing through planning and consultation phases. Public consultation is open for Spring Farm Parkway Stage 2, while designs for the Picton Bypass and the Windsor Road Upgrade at Rouse Hill are scheduled for public display in the coming months.

Planning approval has been secured for a $200 million upgrade to the intersection of Homebush Bay Drive, Australia Avenue, and Underwood Road at Sydney Olympic Park and Homebush. That project, which will replace an existing roundabout with a signalised intersection, is slated to begin construction in 2027. Meanwhile, the Bandon Road project is currently undergoing tender processes, with project approval expected soon.
