## Story

Humanitarian organisation Action For Humanity issued a warning regarding worsening conditions for civilians in western Yemen following intensified military activity reported around Mocha, Dhubab, and the Bab al-Mandab area over a 24-hour period.

The organisation reported that the situation remains fluid as military operations continue, raising concerns over potential civilian displacement and the worsening of an already severe crisis. According to Action For Humanity's recent situation reporting, more than 174,000 people have been displaced in the country since August 2026.

Mohammed Bahashwan, Country Director for Action For Humanity Yemen, stated that the immediate priority is the safety and well-being of civilians caught in the fighting. Bahashwan noted that renewed conflict increases displacement risks, restricts movement, and threatens access to basic necessities including food, healthcare, clean water, and income sources.

In response to the escalation, the organisation stated it is reviewing preparedness measures to deploy emergency food aid, multipurpose cash support, emergency shelter, and water and sanitation assistance, alongside rapid assessments of newly displaced populations.

Action For Humanity also highlighted funding challenges, stating that Yemen remains one of the world's most underfunded crises, and called on international donors to increase support for humanitarian operations in the region.
