Teen Arrested in Connection to Break-In and Assault Incident in Forbes, Central West Region

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to a break-in and assault incident that occurred earlier this week in the Central West region of New South Wales. Police are appealing for more information as their investigation continues.

On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at approximately 3:20 AM, police officers from the Central West Police District responded to a break-in report on Ferry Street, Forbes. A group of teenagers had allegedly broken into a 28-year-old man’s property and stolen a power tool before leaving the scene.

Shortly afterward, the same group threatened a 66-year-old man on Brandon Street, Forbes, demanding money. The 28-year-old man and another 42-year-old man, who had been following the group, intervened, resulting in both of them being assaulted and sustaining minor injuries. The 66-year-old man was uninjured in the incident.

Following inquiries, the police arrested the 13-year-old boy on an unrelated outstanding warrant on May 9, 2024, and refused him bail. He is set to appear in a children’s court today, May 10, 2024.
