Three More Arrested in Wakeley Public Order Incident, Total Now Seven;

Three additional people have been charged in connection to the Wakeley public order incident that occurred last month, bringing the total number of people charged to seven.

On Tuesday 30 April 2024, officers attached to Strike Force Dribs executed a search warrant at a Greenacre home and arrested a 24-year-old man. He was charged with hindering a police officer in the execution of duty and failing to comply with a direction under Part 14. The man was granted conditional bail and is set to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Thursday 6 June 2024.

Following further inquiries, a 31-year-old man was arrested at Kearns on Friday 10 May 2024, and a 28-year-old woman attended Fairfield Police Station. The man was charged with riot and unlawful assembly, while the woman was charged with public disorder, causing fear by threatening more than three people, unlawful assembly, and hindering police in the execution of duty. Both were refused bail and are scheduled to appear in court today.
