Three Wanted Men Sought in Connection to 2021 Shooting Murders of Father and Son,

Australia, Crime and Police, NSW

Two men have been arrested, and three are being sought in connection to the 2021 shooting murders of Toufik and Salim Hamze, the New South Wales (NSW) Police Force announced today. State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad formed Strike Force Ormerod to investigate the murders, and after extensive inquiries, including a public appeal for information in December 2023, detectives executed search warrants in Austral and Riverstone, resulting in the arrest of a 28-year-old man and the transfer of a 29-year-old man from a Goulburn correctional center to Goulburn Police Station.

Rafat Alameddine, John Ray Bayssari, and Zaid Abdelhafez are now wanted by virtue of an outstanding warrant for two counts of murder. The NSW Police Force has released images and descriptions of the wanted men and appealed to them to come home and face the consequences. “The arm of the law is far reaching – and there are no safe havens to hide,” Assistant Commissioner Michael Fitzgerald said.

This case marks one of the worst organized crime assassinations seen in Australia, involving an innocent man who was caught up in the violence and depravity. The NSW Police Force has urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.

The arrests and warrants obtained for these three organised crime figures bring the NSW Police Force one step closer to solving this brutal murder’s totality. Investigations under Strike Force Ormerod continue.
