Two Men Charged, Three Others Wanted for 2021 Shooting Murders in Guildford, NSW

In a significant development, homicide detectives have charged two men and obtained arrest warrants for three others in connection with the 2021 shooting murders of Toufik and Salim Hamze in Guildford, New South Wales. The incident occurred on the morning of Wednesday, 20 October 2021, when emergency services received reports of a shooting on Osgood Street near Woodville Road.

The father and son, identified as Toufik and Salim Hamze, were found inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds. The 18-year-old son succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the 64-year-old father was taken to Westmead Hospital, where he later died. Following extensive investigations and a public appeal for information, Strike Force Ormerod detectives executed search warrants in Austral and Riverstone on Wednesday, 8 May 2024, leading to the arrest and charging of two men with two counts of murder.

A 28-year-old man was charged at Liverpool Police Station and refused bail, while a 29-year-old man was transferred from a Goulburn correctional centre and remanded in custody. Three additional men, Rafat Alameddine, John Ray Bayssari, and Zaid Abdelhafez, are currently wanted on outstanding arrest warrants for two counts of murder.
