Foundation Works Completed for New $910 Million Rouse Hill Hospital

In an October 2026 project update, the NSW Government announced significant construction milestones for the new $910 million Rouse Hill Hospital in Sydney's northwest, alongside the release of a new fly-through animation showcasing the facility's planned design.

According to project updates, early works at the site reached a major milestone with the completion of foundation piling works. More than 220 foundation piles were installed to establish the structural base for the hospital building. Construction crews have now transitioned to constructing the structural base, including the central cores intended to house lifts and stairwells.

The released fly-through animation previews several planned sections of the facility, including maternity and paediatric units, renal dialysis, patient areas, outdoor spaces, and the main entrance. Additionally, plans outline a new pedestrian and cycle path south of the hospital to connect the campus with the Rouse Hill Town Centre and Rouse Hill Metro Station.

The project team also reported on ongoing community engagement through the Rouse Hill Hospital Consumer Reference Group. Feedback presented during a September meeting has contributed to various design elements, including Changing Places facilities, accessible and gender-neutral toilets on every floor, wheelchair weighing stations, and enhanced wayfinding.

Discussions between consumers and planners have also addressed digital health, virtual care integration, landscaping, furniture, and clinical care planning. Officials indicated that the selection process for additional consumer representatives, following an Expression of Interest issued in August, is currently being finalised.
