Two Charged Following Alleged Serious Assault in Oran Park
Two individuals have been charged after an alleged serious assault of a 63-year-old man in Oran Park, in Sydney’s southwest, early Tuesday morning.
According to NSW Police, emergency services were called to Grassbird Avenue around 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, following reports of an altercation. Officers from Camden Police Area Command were informed that two males had allegedly entered a red sedan parked on the street and were subsequently confronted by the vehicle's 63-year-old owner, who was carrying a long pole.
Police allege that one of the males took the pole from the car owner and assaulted him with it, while the second male also participated in the assault before both fled the scene.
The 63-year-old victim received on-site treatment for head and body injuries and was transported to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition. A crime scene was established to facilitate an investigation.
At approximately 3:15 a.m. on the same morning, police arrested a 17-year-old male and a 20-year-old man on Central Avenue in Oran Park. Both were transported to Narellan Police Station and charged with causing grievous bodily harm to a person with intent.
The 17-year-old was initially refused bail and appeared before a children's court on Tuesday, where he received conditional bail to return on Monday, 14 December 2026. The 20-year-old man was refused bail and scheduled to appear before Bail Division Court 3 on Wednesday, 21 October 2026.
