The NSW Government has announced an increase of 190 weekly bus trips across routes 413 and 418 in Sydney's Inner West to improve service frequency and connect passengers with the Southwest Metro.

The service adjustments target off-peak, weekend, and late-night travel across several suburbs. Route 413, running between Campsie and the Sydney CBD via Summer Hill, Lewisham, Annandale, and Broadway, will receive 173 additional trips per week. Off-peak services on weekdays and weekends will increase from every 30 minutes to every 20 minutes, while peak hour frequency remains at 15 minutes. Sunday operating hours will also expand, running from early morning until approximately midnight to match weekday spans.

Route 418, which travels between Burwood and Sydenham via Ashfield, Summer Hill, Hurlstone Park, Dulwich Hill, and Marrickville, will gain 17 extra trips per week. These additions include hourly overnight services on Friday and Saturday nights, making the route operational 24 hours over weekends. The new trips build on more than 300 weekly services added to Route 418 in December 2024.

According to the government, the expanded timetables are intended to coordinate with the Southwest Metro line. Route 413 connects to the metro at Campsie, while Route 418 connects at Sydenham and Hurlstone Park, as well as providing links to heavy rail at Burwood and Ashfield.

The government stated that the expansion addresses recommendations from a bus taskforce review. Since taking office, the Minns administration reports adding nearly 6,000 weekly bus trips across Sydney, ordering 1,271 new buses, and decreasing the bus driver shortfall from over 500 to approximately 200.
